PHQ’s Welfare measures; DGP sanctions scholarship of over rupees 3.00 lakh in favour of wards of slain Police personnel

 

Srinagar, 30  May (PR):- With an aim to provide financial assistance to the wards of martyred Police personnel, the Director General of Police, J&K,  Dilbag Singh has sanctioned  a scholarship of rupees 3.12 lakh in favour of 36 such wards.

The scholarship has been sanctioned out of Central Police Education Fund for the academic session 2021-22 in favour of wards of martyred police personnel who are pursuing their education from primary to university level.

Under this order, the scholarship of rupees 3000 each has been granted in favour of 09 wards of police martyrs who are studying in primary classes. While as rupees 7500 each has been sanctioned in favour of those 12 wards who are pursuing middle school education.

Similarly, the scholarship of  rupees 12500 to 15000 has been granted in favour of 15 wards of police martyrs who are pursuing higher education.

Police headquarters is running various scholarship schemes which include scholarships for wards of serving/deceased/martyred Police personnel/SPOs for class 10th & 12th. Special reward is also given to the students who perform exceptionally in the college/universities and technical courses. Rewards are also given to the wards that crack competitive exams like UPSC, JKPSC, NEET, NET, CSIR etc.
