Vinod Koul resigns from Congress in support of G N Azad

Srinagar, Aug 30 (KNO): In yet another setback to the Congress in Jammu and Kashmir, former bureaucrat Vinod Koul, who had joined politics after retirement from service, on Tuesday resigned from the party in support of former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.

In his resignation letter submitted to AICC president Sonia Gandhi, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Koul has stated that he is quitting the party in support of Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Koul is considered close to several top leaders of the Congress.

Earlier, today dozens of senior leaders, former ministers and legislators and party functionaries resigned from the Congress party to support Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is going to launch news party next month—(KNO)
