Woman Drug Peddler Arrested in Lalpora Lolab, Contraband Substance Recovered: Police
Kupwara, Sept 30 Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said to have arrested a woman drug peddler and recovering from her possession the contraband substance in Lalpora Lolab of Kupwara district.
“Continuing with its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler at Doban lolab and recovered contraband substances from his possession”, reads a statement, issued to Kashmir Glory.
“A police party of Police Station lalpora headed by SHO POlice Station Lalpora Inspector Malik Nasir along with DO Kuligam PSI Azhar Shakeel under the supervision of SDPO Lolab Sarfraz Bashir, on receipt of reliable information apprehended a woman (name withheld) and recovered from her possession 300 gms of charas-like substance”, reads the statement.
“A case vide FIR No.79/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Lalpora and investigation has been taken up”, the statement reads adding the arrestee has been shifted to Women Police Station Kupwara.
“It is pertinent to mention here that during last 10 days 04 NDPS case viz 71/2023,73/2023,74/2023 , 79 /23 stands registered in police stations Lalpora against six drug peddlers including one woman and contraband substance recovered from the possession of accused persons. During the current year 13 NDPS cases have been registered against 18 drug peddlers in Police Station Lalpora”, reads the statement.
“We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law”, concludes the statement.
