Crown City Academy: J&K’s First Film Academy Opens in Jammu

Jammu, Dec 30, Jammu and Kashmir’s first-ever film training institute, the Crown City Academy of Film & Television (CCAFT), has opened its doors in Jammu, marking a significant milestone for the region’s creative and cinematic aspirations.

Established by filmmaker, line producer, and entrepreneur Atul Vinod Duggal through his companies, Duggal’s Software & Services Pvt. Ltd. and AVD Motion Pictures, CCAFT seeks to promote Jammu and Kashmir’s cultural heritage while offering a comprehensive education in filmmaking. The academy blends theoretical learning with practical application, aiming to equip students with the skills needed for thriving careers in the entertainment industry.

CCAFT offers a range of skill-based courses aligned with industry demands, including graphic design, acting, video editing, and social media. The curriculum is supported by experienced faculty from the media industry, providing mentorship and real-world insights.

With state-of-the-art facilities such as fully equipped studios, sound recording and dubbing suites, a shooting floor, and post-production studios, CCAFT ensures students receive hands-on training in a professional environment.

The academy also collaborates with local filmmakers and creative organizations to facilitate internships and projects, offering students practical experience and strengthening the region’s film industry. Its affiliation with the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) further enhances its credibility by providing students with government-recognized certifications.

As the first institution of its kind in the region, CCAFT is poised to transform the cultural and cinematic landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, nurturing local talent and bringing the region’s unique stories to broader audiences.
