Amarnath Yatra Suspended From Baltal Route Due to Bad Weather

Srinagar, July 31, : The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra from the Baltal route remained suspended on Friday due to inclement weather and track repair works following heavy rainfall, officials said.
Authorities said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure after the downpour affected portions of the track, necessitating immediate restoration work to ensure the safety of pilgrims.
Officials said restoration teams have been deployed to repair the damaged stretches, and the movement of pilgrims from the Baltal base camp has been halted until the route is declared safe.
The suspension comes as the pilgrimage from the traditional Pahalgam route also continues to remain suspended because of adverse weather conditions and ongoing restoration efforts.
Authorities have advised pilgrims to remain at the designated base camps and await further instructions. The yatra will resume only after the tracks are restored and weather conditions improve.
