Officials say case registered, investigation taken up

Pattan, March : A man posing as army man looted a shopkeeper of Rs 1.35 lakh in Khasipora Khore village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Talking to Kashmir News Service(KNS), shopkeeper Mohammad Rafiq Ahanger claimed a man posing as army man ordered some hardware items worth Rs 42,500 over phone and he prepared the same.

“Then I arranged a vehicle to take those items to local army camp, where the person asked me to come. The man then asked my account details so he could pay the bill. Accordingly, I disclosed the details to him, however, after accepting the payment request on PhonePe he withdrew all the money amount to Rs 1.35 lakh from my account,” he claimed.

He further said that when he reached the army camp with the hardware material, he came to know that they never called him for this.

“Then I realised I have been cheated by some fraudster who looter all the money from my bank account,” he said.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been set into motion. (KNS)
Two LeT Militant Associates Arrested In Baramulla: Police

Srinagar, March 07 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two militant associates of Lashkar-i-Toiba outfit in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The police said that Joint forces of Baramulla Police and 176 Bn CRPF on specific information regarding the presence of militants in Village Monchkhud Kunzer launched a joint CASO in the said village.

“During CASO two suspect persons were apprehended, identified as:Khurshid Ahmad Khan son of Mushtaq Ahmad Khan & Reyaz Ahmad Khan son of Gh Mohi ud Din Khan both residents of Zandpal Kunzer,” it said.

It further said that from their possession following two AK 47 Magazines, 15 AK 47 rounds, 20 Blank posters of banned LeT (TRF) were recovered. “During questioning suspects revealed that they are working as militant associates with banned militant outfit LeT (TRF) and were taken into custody immediately, it said.

It is pertinent to mention here that the militant associate obtained these illegal ammunition with intent to carry out militant activities in Kunzer and adjacent areas, he said.

Case under sections of Arms and UA (P) Act stands registered in Police station Kunzer and investigation set in motion.
