Police seizes 04 vehicles, arrests 04 persons in Awantipora
May 12: Acting tough against illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 04 vehicles and arrested 04 persons in Awantipora.
A police party under the supervision of SDPO Pampore Shri Imtiyaz Ahmad–JKPS assisted by SHO PS Pampore, arrested 03 persons and seized 03 vehicles (tippers) involved in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals at Pampore. Similarly, a police party of PP Reshipora, arrested a person and seized a vehicle (tipper) involved in illegal extraction & transportation of sand at Dogripora.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and further investigations have been initiated.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
