Body of Teenage Boy Retrieved from Flood Channel in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 25 : Body of a teenage boy who allegedly slipped into a flood channel in Tengpora area in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Thursday evening has been retrieved, officials informed.

They told GNS that soon after the news about falling of a youth identified as Maqsood Ahmad, a resident of Kangan Ganderbal, spread, a police team alongside locals launched a rescue operation at the site.

“Despite timely efforts, the boy could not be saved”, they said adding “Prima-facie it seems the boy accidently slipped into the water, but the relevant agencies are ascertaining the incident from all possible angles.”

A police official concerned has in the meantime also confirmed about the incident. “We will share the details as they emerge”, the official added. (GNS)
