Illegal extraction and transportation of minerals; Police seizes 11 vehicles, arrests 11 persons in Baramulla

September 10: Acting tough against the persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, police have seized 11 vehicles and arrested 11 persons in Baramulla.
A police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by SHO PS Baramulla & IC PP Delina seized 08 vehicles (8 tippers) and arrested 8 drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Khanpora & Delina. They have been identified as Javid Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Ramzan Dar resident of Jalsheeri, Gh Mohi-ud-Din Khan son of Mohd Akbar Khan resident of , Mohd Yousuf Sheikh son Mohd Abdullah resident of Kitchama, Irshad Ahmad Khan son of Ab Gani resident of Khanpora, Gh Qadir Bhat son of Ab Rehman resident of Beerwah Budgam, Shahnaz Ahmad Mir son of Gh Ahmad resident of Kalampora, Mashooq Ahmad Dar son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Kungamdara Pattan & Manzoor Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Mohd resident of Kachu Muqam Chandoosa.
Similarly, a police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO PS Kunzer seized 1 vehicle (1 tipper) and arrested 1 driver, involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Bongam Kunzer. He has been identified as Rouf Ahmad Lone son of Gh Rasool resident of Gokhama Kunzer.
In addition, a police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan assisted by IC PP Kungamdara seized 2 vehicles (2 tractors) and arrested 2 drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Khoresherabad. They have been identified as Suhail Ahmad Ganie son of Gh Mohd resident of Khoresherabad & Aarif Dilawar Rather son of Mohd Dilawar resident of Lalpora Kunzer.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective Police Stations and investigation have been initiated.
Persons found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
