GMC Rajouri Ranked First in Public Health Facilities UT

Jammu: Govt Medical College Rajouri has topped the list of ranking of different Public health care facilities among all GMCs, in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the ranking list released by National Health Mission. The newly established Medical College has excelled on the basis of registration, conversion of EMR (Electronic Medical Record), registration of IPD patients and patient feedback uploaded on the portal of JK e- Sehaj on real time basis. The JK e- Sehaj , an electronic system for automation of Hospital Administration J &K was launched by the Lieutenant Governor, Sh Manoj Sinha for all types of public health care facilities on 4th November 2022 for improving the health care delivery system. While talking to this Correspondent Principal GMC Rajouri , Prof(Dr) A S Bhatia disclosed that Rajouri is also performing high end surgical procedures including Total Hip Replacement, Knee replacement, Laparoscopic surgery, Advanced cataract surgeries and various radiological, CT guided procedures for which the patient used to visit Jammu or outside. He attributed the success to the team effort of all facilities including paramedical and non- gazetted staff of the Hospital. It was further disclosed that Rajouri is going to start production of various blood components including platelets for Dengue and other patients with bleeding disorders. Further a new section of central sterile supply department is being constituted to fight the emerging threat of antibiotic resistant bacteria in the community for which experts including Dr Harleen Kaur, Professor of Microbiology and member secretary Hospital Infection Control GMC Jammu, visited the associated Hospital. He lauded the role of MS Dr Mehmood Bajar in implementing the various schemes in the institution . Further the success story was attributed to the whole hearted support of Administrative Department HME J & KL and District Administration Rajouri.
