New Delhi, May 30 (UNI) The Delhi unit of the Congress on Monday staged a protest here over the brutal killing of popular Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala.
Members of the Congress party-led by its Delhi president Anil Kumar Choudhary, holding placards and banners, held the demonstration outside the residence of Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, demanding dismissal of the Bhagwant Mann-led government in Punjab over the incident.
“There is ‘jungle raj’ in Punjab. We are demanding dismissal of the kathputli(puppet) government in Punjab,” Chaudhary told reporters here.
Attacking the AAP government in Punjab over curtailing his security cover, the Delhi Congress chief said,” Why was Moosewala’s security’s cover cut down ? He was an inspiration to the youth of Punjab. Just for ‘image’ building, the Mann-led government withdrew the security cover of 424 prominent people.”
Choudhary also claimed that by doing so, the AAP government is giving a message to the criminals and the result was the brutal killing of Moosewala.
Moosewala was shot dead, while his two friends were injured, after unknown gunmen sprayed bullets at them in Jahawarke village of Mansa district on Sunday.
