LUCKNOW: A team of journalists from Jammu and Kashmir delved into the heart of the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Lucknow, meeting with Additional Chief Secretary – of Agriculture, Devesh Chaturvedi to amplify their inter-state media coverage.
The Yatra, aimed at promoting central schemes and ensuring their outreach to the masses, provided the journalists with a firsthand look into the initiatives transforming lives.
Before immersing themselves in the programs in Lucknow’s Rajajipuram area, the journalist team gathered insights from Devesh Chaturvedi about the ongoing travel program. Led by the Press Information Bureau – PIB Lucknow, the 13-member team from various media organizations embarked on a mission to capture the narratives of beneficiaries and unveil the impact of government schemes.
Addressing the journalists, Devesh Chaturvedi shared comprehensive details about the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra’s reach in Uttar Pradesh. The Yatra, boasting 604 campaign vehicles in rural areas, had organized programs in over 39 thousand gram panchayats, engaging more than 2 crore 70 lakh people in transformative programs and camps.
In urban areas, the Yatra had reached 1166 locations, with an average participation of 1500 people per program, totaling over 16 lakh participants. Noteworthy achievements included the distribution of 24 lakh Ayushman cards and the addition of over 1 lakh 74 thousand beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
Chaturvedi emphasized the increase in beneficiaries availing multiple schemes within a family, showcasing the comprehensive impact of Vikas Bharat Yatra. He highlighted the success stories of over 2 lakh 47 thousand individuals who registered their achievements in ‘Meri Kahani, Meri Juwani’ out of the total 43 lakh 41 thousand beneficiaries.
The Additional Chief Secretary highlighted the significant impact of One Nation One Ration Card through biometrics, simplifying daily life. He underscored the government’s commitment to the prosperity of farmers, drawing parallels between the flourishing farmers of Barabanki and those cultivating saffron in Kashmir. The provision of pure tap water to every household and a reduction in diseases were cited as tangible outcomes of the schemes, signaling the successful achievement of targets in Uttar Pradesh.
As the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra continues its journey, the journalists from Jammu and Kashmir aim to bring forth the untold stories of transformation and progress from different corners of the country.
