Sopore Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances.
Sopore: In continuation of its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Sopore Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party of Police Station Tarzoo headed by SHO PS Tarzoo Insp. Khalid Aslam under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS, at a checkpoint at Nageen Bagh Krankshivan Colony Sopore, apprehended two persons.
During their search 143 grams of contraband charas like substance was recovered from their possession.
On preliminary verification they disclosed their identity as
1. Ghulam Hassan Dar S/O Ghulam Mohiudin Dar R/O Mohalla Telyan Sopore and
2. Ghulam Qadir Malik S/O Ghulam Nabi Malik R/O Alamdar Colony Tahab Pulwama.
In this connection, case FIR No. 27/2024 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Tarzoo & investigation has been initiated.
Sopore police urges the common masses to give information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112.
General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
