Postal Dept rolls out “Special Concession Stamp” on Kargil Vijay Diwas to pay homage to brave hearts
Srinagar, July 26: Department of Posts, Ministry of Communication, Government of India on Friday rolled out a “special concession stamp” as a gesture to pay glorious tributes to brave hearts who rendered their lives for the integrity of country during Kargil war in 1999.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Chief Post Master General Jammu & Kashmir Circle Amitabh Singh on behalf of the department paid homage to Kargil war heroes, saying “the aim of rolling out special stamp is to recollect the sacrifices of Kargil war heroes and pay tributes to them”.
He said our country became victorious due to sacrifices rendered by our soldiers in Kargil war. “Today this stamp will be printed on every letter to remember our soldiers as they made our country victorious,” he said.
The officer added that India Posts has many plans in the pipeline for convenience of general public which will be brought to fore in coming times.
“In post delivery system the department has witnessed 35 percent increase in delivery system despite people use other means of communication like internet etc. We have many plans in the pipeline and soon they will be extended for people’s convenience,” he added.
