Farooq Abdullah to Contest J&K Assembly Polls
“Will Step Down for Omar Post-Statehood”
Srinagar, Aug 17: National Conference president Dr. Farooq announced his intention to run in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.
Speaking at a press conference in Jammu, Abdullah stated that after the restoration of statehood, he plans to step down to allow his son, Omar Abdullah, to contest the seat.
He expressed that the central government has promised to restore statehood and emphasized that all parties are advocating for its prompt return.
Abdullah also commented on the election schedule set by the Election Commission of India, describing it as an opportunity to assess party preparedness.
