Sopore, 30 Dec : In continuation of its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Sopore Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered Contraband Substances from their possession.
A police party of Police Station Tarzoo headed by SHO PS Tarzoo Insp. Sajad Ahamd under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS, during naka checking at Sofi Hamam intercepted an Auto bearing registration number JK15-4531 in which two persons were boarding identified as:
1. Zahoor Ahmad Malla S/O Mohammad Maqbool Malla R/O Shercolony B and
2. Mohammad Shafi Gojri S/O Late Ghulam ud Din Gojri R/O Ningli Hatishah.
During the search Police Party was able to recover 2212 grams of contraband Poppy Straw like substance from their possession.
In this regard, case FIR No. 123/2024 under relevant sections of Law has been registered at Police Station Tarzoo & investigation has been initiated.
Sopore police urges the common masses to give information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112.
General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
