Restoration work in full swing post snowfall in Kashmir: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar, Jan 6, : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said that the restoration work is going on in full snow following snowfall in Kashmir valley.

β€œFollowing the snowfall in J&K yesterday, particularly in the valley, restoration work is in full swing & being closely monitored,” said Omar.

He said the current electricity load being drawn in the valley is 1200 MW, and this will rise as the day progresses. β€œThe current status of our feeders is outlined below. Snow clearance work is proceeding with priority roads receiving immediate attention. Two ministers, Sakina Itoo & Javaid Dar along with advisor Nasir Aslam Wani will be moving around the districts to review the situation on the ground,” said the Chief Minister, in a post on X.

Kashmir Valley received a fresh spell of snow last night, with the weather department predicting more today.
