In a significant crackdown on illegal mining, the Sopore Police, in collaboration with the Geology and Mining Department, seized one tractor without registration number involved in the unlawful extraction of minerals. One driver was also arrested in the operation.
A team led by SHO PS Dangiwacha Insp. Aijaz Ahmad, carried out the action and arrested individual identified as, Mohammad Iqbal Ganie R/O Machanpora Fidarpora Rafiabad.
Action under law has been taken under the relevant sections of law at Police Station Dangiwacha.
