Traffic Police Conduct Road Safety Awareness Drive in Qazigund

Kulgam, Jan 20, As part of National Road Safety Month 2025, the Traffic Police in Kulgam organized a road safety awareness program in Qazigund town on Monday.

The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from drivers, shopkeepers, students, and passengers. Senior officers, including DySP Traffic Muhammad Aslam, DTI Lalit Sharma, SO Abdul Rashid, and other officials from the traffic department, attended the event, underlining the importance of joint efforts in promoting road safety.

The presence of the officers inspired attendees, emphasizing the shared responsibility of creating safer roads for everyone.

Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police Traffic Kulgam, Muhammad Aslam, stated, “The primary objective of this drive is to raise awareness about the significance of road safety measures and strict compliance with traffic regulations.” He added that similar initiatives would be conducted regularly to foster safe road practices.

The SP also urged parents to avoid allowing minors to use bikes or scooters, stressing the need to strictly follow traffic rules to prevent accidents. Participants highlighted the critical need for safe driving habits to reduce road accidents and fatalities.

The program was well-received by the public, who appreciated its focus on encouraging responsible driving and promoting road safety.
