In a persistent effort to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Kulgam Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
On 26.02.2025 Police party of police post Frisal under the close supervision of SHO PS Yaripora Insp Sandeep Sharma established a checkpoint at Damidola crossing and during checking one person carrying a bag and roaming in suspicious condition was intercepted. After checking, 10.47 kilogram of Poppy Straw like contraband substance filled in the said bag was recovered from his possession. The said person identified as Mohd Syed Parray son of Mohd Abdullah Parray resident of Humshalibugh was arrested on spot and accordingly a case vide FIR No 15/2025 U/S 8/15 NDPS act was registered at police station Yaripora and further investigation is going on.
Kulgam Police affirms its steadfast commitment of eliminating drug peddling in the district with the full might of law. We also caution those engaged in this unlawful activity that the long arm of law would catch them sooner than anticipated and every offender will face justice.
