*Farooq Ahmed Shah Appointed Chairman of J&K Assembly’s Committee on Petitions*

Srinagar, May 28, 2025 — In a noteworthy legislative appointment, Mr. Pirzada Farooq Ahmed Shah, Hon’ble MLA from the Gulmarg constituency, has been named Chairman of the Committee on Petitions in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. The announcement was made through an official notification issued by Advocate Abdul Rahim Rather, Hon’ble Speaker of the Assembly, under Rule 341 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business.

The Committee on Petitions serves as a vital channel for citizens to present their grievances and demands to the Legislature. It is tasked with scrutinizing public petitions, ensuring that administrative transparency and responsive governance are upheld.
