Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Awantipora Police arrested one drug peddler in Tral and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Tral
headed by SHO PS Tral Inspector Ab Rashid during naka checking at Razak shah Crossinng intercepted one person in suspicious condition,when police party signalled him to stop he tried to flee from the spot but police party apprehended him tactfully. During search, 2.5 Kgs of Poppy Straw was recovered from his possession. The arrested drug peddlers has been identified as Mohd Amin Dar S/O Ab Rehman Dar R/o Nazneenpora.
The accused has been arrested and shifted to the police station for custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.107/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Tral and further investigation has been initiated.
