CBI Arrests Six Policemen Including DySP & Inspector in Custodial Torture Case in J&K
Aug 21 : In a major development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested six policemen, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) and an Inspector, for their alleged involvement in the custodial torture of a police constable in Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said the arrests were made following directions from the Supreme Court, which had ordered a probe into the case. The arrested personnel are accused of subjecting the constable to severe torture while in custody, sparking outrage and concerns over custodial abuse.

The CBI has taken over the investigation and said further action will follow as per law.
