JAMMU 44 JKAS Officers to Retire in 2026; GAD Issues Superannuation Notification

The General Administration Department (GAD) of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a notification announcing the retirement on superannuation of 44 officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) during the calendar year 2026.
According to the notification, the officers will retire on attaining the age of superannuation on different dates throughout the year. The list includes several senior officers presently holding key positions in the Secretariat, district administration and various departments across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
Among those scheduled to retire are Asif Hamid Khan, Member of the J&K Special Tribunal; Bashir Ahmad Dar, Secretary, J&K Public Service Commission; Shabnam Shah, Commissioner/Secretary, ARI and Training Department; Vivek Sharma, Director General, Floriculture, Jammu; Nawab Din, Custodian General, J&K; Narupa Rai, Special Secretary in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K; and Gh. Rasool Mir, Special Secretary, School Education Department, reported news agency Kashmir Dot Com.
Other officers retiring in 2026 include Qazi Sarwar, Director, Urban Local Bodies, Kashmir; Subash Chander, Excise Commissioner, J&K; Moses Kunzang, Director, Urban Local Bodies, Ladakh; Reyaz Ahmad Sofi, Regional Director, Survey and Land Records (Settlement Officer), Baramulla; Roshan Lal, Additional District Development Commissioner, Doda; Mushtaq Ahmad, Special Secretary, Floriculture, Parks and Gardens Department; and Sandesh Kumar, Managing Director, J&K Agro Industries Development Corporation.
The notification also lists Rimpy Ohri, Director, Public Relations, New Delhi; Ved Parkash, Regional Director, Survey and Land Records (Settlement Officer), Udhampur; Sajid Yehaya Naqash, Additional Commissioner; Sudershan Kumar, Programme Officer, ICDS Project, Reasi; Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, Additional Secretary, J&K Public Service Commission; Rajeev Mangotra, Additional Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department; Naresh Kumar, Joint Director, Hospitality and Protocol, Jammu; and Kartar Singh, Additional Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department.
Among district and field-level officers are Ghulam Mohmad Bhat, Deputy Commissioner, State Taxes (Enforcement–South), Kashmir; Jitender Mishra, Deputy Director, Youth Services and Sports; Abdul Gaffar Zargar, General Manager, District Industries Centre, Leh; Yudh Vir Padha, Deputy Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Jammu; Syed Mushtaq Ahmad Razvi, Deputy Director, Tribal Affairs, Kashmir; Naseema Akhter, Deputy Secretary, Forest, Ecology and Environment Department; Mohd. Amin Shah, Deputy Secretary, Finance Department; and Nissar Ahmed Wani, Deputy District Election Officer, Anantnag.
The list further includes Vijay Kumar, Project Officer, Wage Employment (ACD), Reasi; Naeem-ur-Rahman Moghal, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Chatroo; Hamidullah Mir, Sub-Registrar, Kulgam; Shahzada Noor-ul-Ain, Assistant Commissioner, Panchayat, Jammu; Mohinder Kumar Sharma, Deputy Director, District Employment and Counselling Centre, Udhampur; Taj Krishan Koul, Assistant Commissioner, Relief Organisation (Migrants), Jammu; Mohmmad Altaf Rather, Assistant Commissioner, State Taxes Department, Kashmir; and Sunil Dutt, Deputy Secretary, J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations.
Also retiring during 2026 are Javed Iqbal Bhat, Deputy Director, Rural Sanitation, Kashmir; Farooq Ahmad Banday, Deputy Secretary, Department of Culture; Manoj Kumar Pandit, Deputy Secretary, J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations; Farooq Ahmad Wani, Deputy Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department; Gh. Mohi-ud-din Bhat, Deputy Secretary, Horticulture Department; and Mohd. Yaseen Shah, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Budgam.
The order has been circulated to all concerned departments, including the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners, for information and necessary action
