The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of Crime Branch J&K registered a strong performance in 2025 by disposing of 100 FIRs related to fraud, cheating, forgery, land scams, job frauds, and financial irregularities across the Valley.
Alongside investigations, 1,270 complaints were examined and resolved, while 290 preliminary enquiries were conducted to prevent disputes from escalating. Special focus remained on job-related frauds targeting unemployed youth, land frauds, forged documents, misuse of public funds, and corporate frauds. Organized networks of habitual offenders were identified and booked, sending a clear deterrent message.
EOW Kashmir reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public trust and urged citizens to promptly report economic offences.
