Budgam Police Arrest Long-Time Absconder Evading Arrest in a 39 Year old Rape Case

Budgam, April 15:
In a significant breakthrough, Budgam Police has apprehended a long-time absconder who had been evading arrest for nearly four decades in connection with a rape case registered at Police Station Budgam.
The accused, Bashir Ahmad Ganaie, son of Abdul Majeed Ganaie, a resident of Drer Kalipora, Shopian, presently residing at Lammer, Kulgam, was wanted in FIR No. 237/1987 under Sections 366 and 376 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).
Despite sustained efforts by Budgam Police over the years, the accused had remained at large since 1987. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a dedicated team from Police Station Budgam conducted a well-coordinated operation and succeeded in apprehending the accused, who is now in police custody.
The arrest marks a notable achievement for Budgam Police and underscores individuals involved in crimes cannot evade justice indefinitely.
