Continuing its intensified drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Anantnag Police arrested four drug peddlers in two separate incidents and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In the first incident, Police Post Sherbagh, during naka checking at Sarnal, apprehended Ruhail Ahmad Shah S/o Javid Ahmad Shah R/o Naibasti Khanbal and Daniyal Ismail Bhat S/o Mohd Ismail Bhat R/o Pehru Iqbal Abad. Upon their search, 02 grams of heroin from each was recovered.
In this connection, FIR No. 323/2026 U/S 8/21-29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Anantnag and investigation has been set into motion.
In another incident Police party from Police Post Sangam, during naka checking at GB Khalil Naina Sangam, two persons namely Shahid Hussain S/o Liyakat Hussain R/o Barkhera Kund, Uttar Pradesh and Bablu S/o Rajesh Gupta R/o Barkhera Kalan, Uttar Pradesh, were apprehended. During their search, approximately 147 grams of charas was recovered from their possession.
Accordingly, FIR No. 269/2026 under the NDPS Act has been registered and investigation has been set into motion.
Anantnag Police reiterates its commitment to taking firm and sustained action against drug trafficking and those involved in the illegal trade of narcotic substances.
