Anantnag Police Seize 7.8 kg Ganja, One Arrested

Anantnag, April 16: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking, Anantnag Police achieved a major success after apprehending a suspected drug peddler at K.V Pora, Marhama.
The accused, identified as Sabzar Ahmad Rather, son of Habibullah Rather and a resident of Waghama Rathermohalla, was intercepted by a police team from Police Post Sangam (Sangam Chowki) while he was moving from K.V Pora Marhama towards NH-44. During checking, officers recovered 7.854 kilograms of a ganja-like substance from a bag in his possession.
Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 94/2026 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered and further investigation has been taken up.
Anantnag Police, particularly Police Post Sangam, remain committed and are making continuous efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society.
