Awantipora Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers; Contraband Recovered

Awantipora, April 16:
Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Awantipora Police apprehending two drug peddlers during naka checking at Arch Kanal.

A police party of PP Toll Plaza headed by IC PP Toll Plaza SI Ishfaq Ahmad under the supervision of SHO Police Station Awantipora Inspector Ajaz Hmad intercepted two persons identified as Junaid Tariq son of Tariq Ahmad Khan, resident of Hariparigam and Mubashir Ahmad Wani son of Khazar Mohammad Wani, resident of Panjpora, who were riding on a motorcycle (Pulsar) bearing registration No. JK03M-3900.

During their search, contraband substance (charas/chura) like substance weighing approximately 01Kg 258 grams was recovered from their possession.

The motorcycle used in the commission of the offence has also been seized.

Both the accused persons have been arrested .
Accordingly a case, FIR No. 88/2026 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at PS Awantipora. Further investigation has been set into motion.

Awantipora Police reiterates its commitment under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan to eradicate the drug menace and urges the general public to cooperate in this noble cause.
