*Anantnag Police Crack Down On Drug Menace: Three Peddlers Arrested, Significant Quantity Of Contraband Seized*

In a decisive action against the growing drug menace, Anantnag Police achieved a major breakthrough by apprehending three drug peddlers in two separate operations, recovering a substantial quantity of contraband substances.

A police team from Police Station Bijbehara, during routine naka checking at Tulkhan Bridge, intercepted and apprehended one individual identified as Arif Ahmad Dar S/o Mohd Shaban Dar R/o Tulkhan Bijbehara. Upon search, 1.269 kilograms of charas powder was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, lCase FIR No. 99/2026 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered, and further investigation is underway.

In another operation, a police party from Police Post Kahnabal established a naka at Batengoo–Uranhall crossing and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK03D-5313 with two persons on board. During questioning, they identified themselves as Aaqib Fayaz S/o Fayaz Ahmad Dar R/o Uranhall and Mudasir Ahmad S/o Ab Rehman R/o Uranhall, Upon search, 37 grams of charas powder was recovered from the co-rider Mudasir Ahmad, while 41 grams of the same contraband was seized from the boot space of the vehicle driven by Aaqib Fayaz. In this regard, Case FIR No. 109/2026 under sections 8/20-29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Anantnag.

Anantnag Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicating the drug menace from society and urges the general public to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug peddling. Strict action will continue against those involved in such illegal activities.
