Several public delegations, JCCI call on CM Omar Abdullah, development & Industry related issues highlighted

JAMMU, APRIL 23: Several public and trade deputations today called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here, presenting a wide spectrum of developmental and industry-related matters, while seeking continued policy support and facilitation.
A deputation led by President Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Arun Gupta, engaged with the Chief Minister on key issues concerning trade and commerce. The delegation highlighted matters impacting business activity and emphasized the need for a more conducive environment to further boost economic growth and streamline operations.
The industry delegation also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for restoring the Darbar Move, noting that the session has significantly invigorated economic activity in the region, particularly across markets, rental properties, hotels and the transport sector.
Another deputation, the Pir Panjal Welfare and Development Trust, led by Vivek Verma, called on the Chief Minister. The delegation brought forth a range of developmental priorities, reflecting the aspirations of the region’s residents.
The members underscored the immense tourism potential of Pir Panjal region and called for focused efforts to harness it sustainably. They also highlighted the importance of strengthening health and education infrastructure, ensuring reliable drinking water supply, and expanding employment opportunities, particularly for youth in border areas. Issues pertaining to the construction of community and individual bunkers, as well as further strengthening of the administrative framework in these areas, were also brought to the fore.
The Chief Minister gave a patient and attentive hearing to all the deputations and individuals. He assured them that their genuine concerns would be addressed on priority, reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusive development and responsive governance across all regions.
