Two Persons Apprehended During Naka Checking; Charas Recovered at Pampore

PAMPORE, May 06:
Continuing its efforts under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan to curb the menace of drug trafficking, Police in Awantipora arrested two persons during naka checking near Frestabal.
The naka was laid under the supervision of SHO PS Pampore, Inspector Khalid Fayaz.
During the checking, two individuals were intercepted and upon search, a charas like substance weighing approximately 40.86 grams was recovered from their possession. The accused have been identified as Peer Touseef son of Peer Nizamdin, resident of Bagander Pampore and Arif Mushtaq son of Mushtaq Ahmad Chopan, resident of Badipora Chadoora.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 39/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pampore, and further investigation has been taken up.
Police urge the general public to cooperate and share information related to drug peddling for the safety and well being of society.
