Srinagar, May 7: The father of senior police officer Imtiyaz Hussain Mir (IPS), breathed his last at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences on Thursday after a brief illness, family sources said.
He passed away at SKIMS Soura a while ago, leaving behind a large circle of relatives, friends and well-wishers in mourning.
As news of his demise spread, senior officers from the police and civil administration, colleagues and acquaintances extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Funeral prayers are expected to be held at his native place, with relatives and mourners continuing to visit the family to offer condolences.
