Omar Abdullah Joins INDIA Bloc Meeting in New Delhi

New Delhi, June 9, : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Vice President Omar Abdullah on Monday participated in a meeting of the INDIA Bloc, joining senior opposition leaders from across the country for discussions on key political and national issues.
The meeting brought together leaders of constituent parties of the opposition alliance amid continuing political developments at the national level and ahead of the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament.
Omar Abdullah’s participation came days after National Conference president Farooq Abdullah had confirmed that the party would be represented at the INDIA Bloc meeting, reiterating that the National Conference remains a constituent of the alliance.
The deliberations focused on matters of national importance, parliamentary strategy and issues expected to dominate political discourse in the coming weeks.
The meeting also provided opposition leaders an opportunity to coordinate their approach on various political and legislative matters likely to arise during the forthcoming Parliament session.
Omar Abdullah was seen alongside senior leaders from several opposition parties participating in the discussions.
The National Conference has recently been vocal on issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the restoration of statehood, a demand the party intends to raise during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
RJD leader and Bihar Assembly LoP Tejashwi Yadav while talking to reporters, said that there has been consensus on five issues and we are all united in raising them…If the election is held using ballot papers, the BJP won’t stand a chance.ย
