DC Srinagar attends 74th Raising Day of Zila Sainik Welfare Board Srinagar District Admin committed to addressing concerns and ensuring welfare of veterans and war widows: DC

SRINAGAR, JUNE 23: Zila Sainik Welfare Board Srinagar today observed its 74th Raising Day at Sainik Bhawan Srinagar for the welfare and resettlement of ex-servicemen, war widows and their wards, of South and Central Kashmir.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo who is also the President Sainik Board Srinagar was the chief guest on the occasion.
The programme witnessed the participation of senior Officers from the Army, Police and Civil Administration, besides a large gathering of ex-servicemen, war veterans, veer naris, war widows and their family members from across South and Central Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner lauded the invaluable contributions and sacrifices made by the armed forces in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and integrity. He reiterated the commitment of the District Administration towards ensuring the welfare and well-being of ex-servicemen, Veer Naaris, and their families, and emphasized the importance of extending all possible support to those who have served the nation with distinction.
During an interactive session, war veterans and war widows expressed their gratitude for the various welfare initiatives and support measures undertaken by the District Administration for the benefit of the ex-servicemen community and their dependents.
As part of the celebrations, wheelchairs were distributed among specially-abled wards of ex-servicemen to facilitate their mobility and improve their quality of life. Veer Naaris were also felicitated in recognition of their courage, resilience, and sacrifices.
