Javed Rana reviews Jal Shakti works in Pampore constituency; seeks early operationalisation of near-complete projects

SRINAGAR, JUNE 25: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today reviewed the progress of various Jal Shakti sector works being executed in Pampore constituency.
The meeting, held at Civil Secretariat Srinagar, was attended by MLA Pampore, Hasnain Masoodi, Director Finance, Jal Shakti Department; Director Planning, Jal Shakti Department; Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Division, Pulwama; Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, Awantipora/Pulwama; Executive Engineer, Irrigation Division Pulwama and Executive Engineer, Ground Water Division Srinagar.
During the review, the Minister asked the officers to explore all possible options for commissioning the schemes that are nearing completion but are pending due to minor works, so that these projects are made operational at the earliest and the intended benefits accrue to the people.
Emphasising the need for timely execution of works, Rana directed the concerned officers to resolve all pending land compensation cases in a time-bound manner to ensure that developmental projects do not suffer delays.
The Minister also reviewed the status of works being undertaken under the AMRUT scheme for Pampore town and stressed the need for maintaining quality standards while ensuring timely completion of the projects.
Reviewing flood management measures in the constituency, Rana directed the concerned authorities to strengthen the flood protection works well in advance to avert any untoward situation during the rainy season. He stressed that all preventive and preparedness measures should be put in place proactively so that people do not face inconvenience at the last moment.
The Minister underscored the importance of close coordination among all the stakeholder departments for effective implementation of the schemes. He reiterated the government’s commitment towards providing improved drinking water and flood protection infrastructure to the people of Pampore.
Javed Rana directed the officers to make judicious use of available resources and ensure that no funds lapse under any scheme, emphasising that optimum utilisation of allocated funds is essential for achieving the desired developmental outcomes.
