*Gundipora road project nearing completion, says SBSP leader; slams NC over proposed Jantar Mantar protest*

Kulgam, July 11: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) Jammu and Kashmir president Vivek Bali on Saturday said the long-pending road project in Gundipora area of Kulgam district has reached its final stage and thanked the Lieutenant Governor-led administration and officials for supporting the development work.

Addressing a gathering during his visit to Gundipora along with the party’s political advisor Dilawar Singh, Bali said he had earlier assured residents that the issue would be taken up with the concerned authorities and expressed satisfaction that the project was now nearing completion.

According to a statement, Bali said the road project gained momentum during the tenure of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and thanked the LG administration as well as the then Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, for their role in taking the project forward.

He said the remaining macadamisation work is expected to begin shortly and the road will be fully completed in the coming days, providing long-awaited relief to the local residents.

Bali also thanked the people of Gundipora for their trust and cooperation, saying their support helped ensure the issue received the required attention.

Meanwhile, commenting on the National Conference’s proposed Jantar Mantar protest seeking restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, Bali criticised the party, alleging that its leaders were “only going there to enjoy the trip.”

“We will have to see whether MP Aga Ruhullah joins the protest or not,” he said.

He further alleged that despite completing two years in government, the ruling party had failed to fulfil the promises made to the people in its election manifesto.

Dilawar Singh also addressed the gathering and reiterated the party’s commitment to raising public issues and working for the welfare and development of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
