NH-44 update — Restoration work for the single carriageway is still in progress on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) near Dawal bridge, Samroli area of Udhampur District.

Raining heavily in Ramban Sector right now and incidents of shooting stones/mudslides being witnessed at multiple locations in Ramban and Banihal Sector. The NH-44 is still closed for all types of traffic as the road surface is highly slushy, muddy and extremely slippery. NHAI personnel and machinery along with Traffic Police personnel are on the job to restore the road. Commuters are advised not to travel on NH-44 until the road is cleared and declared safe for traffic movement. Please don’t pay heed on the rumors and check status of road.
