Anantnag, September 17, 2026:
In its continued drive against absconders and wanted persons, Anantnag Police arrested an absconder involved in an NDPS case registered in Udhampur.
A police party from Police Station Dooru, acting on specific information, apprehended Abdul Rashid Sood S/o Gh. Nabi R/o Garnia, Udhampur, who was evading arrest in connection with FIR No. 38/2024 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Rambhal, Udhampur.
A warrant under Section 299 Cr.P.C. had been issued against him by the Court of District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur, in 2025.
The accused has been arrested and further legal proceedings are being undertaken in accordance with law. The arrest reflects Anantnag Police’s continued efforts to trace and apprehend absconders and wanted persons, irrespective of jurisdiction.
