🔘👉🏻 Kulgam, November 06 Continuing its crackdown on illegal mining activities, Kulgam Police have seized seven vehicles, including four tractors, two tippers and one dumper, allegedly involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at different locations across the district.
Officials said the seized vehicles were found involved in activities related to the unauthorised extraction and transportation of minor minerals, prompting police to initiate legal proceedings against those allegedly responsible.
In this connection, cases have been registered at Police Stations Kulgam and Yaripora, while investigations have been taken up to establish the facts and ascertain the involvement of individuals associated with the illegal activities.
Police said the action forms part of their continued efforts to curb unlawful mining operations and prevent the unauthorised exploitation of natural resources in the district.
Kulgam Police reiterated that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found involved in illegal mining and transportation of minerals.
The police have also appealed to the general public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and share information regarding illegal mining activities in their respective areas.(KNC)
