Permission Granted for 8th Muharram Procession in Srinagar — To Begin at 5:30 AM

Srinagar, July 03 : The District Magistrate Srinagar has officially granted permission for the Muharram procession to be held on 8th Muharram (July 4, 2025), from Guru Bazar to Dalgate via Budshah Kadal and M.A. Road starting at 05:30 am.
The permission was issued following a request from the Yaadgari-i-Hussaini Committee, and after the Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar, raised no objection, subject to strict conditions to ensure peace and public safety.
According to the Yaadgari-i-Hussaini Committee, the Muharram procession will commence at 5:30 AM from Guru Bazar.
As per the official order, the procession is to be conducted strictly on the left side of the road, keeping the right side clear for emergency service vehicles. Organizers must ensure the event concludes within the prescribed timeframe.
Authorities have banned anti-national, communal, or provocative speeches, use of drones, and public address systems. Any act that disrupts law and order, damages public property, or hampers traffic and medical movement will invite strict action.
The administration has urged the organisers to cooperate fully with police and other agencies to ensure a peaceful and smooth conduct of the religious gathering.
