Continuing its sustained efforts against the menace of drug trafficking, Anantnag Police apprehended a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession in the Bijbehara area of the district.
A police party from Police Station Bijbehara, while conducting routine naka checking at Tarbal Guree, intercepted and apprehended one individual identified as Zahid Ali Dar S/o Ali Mohammad Dar R/o Guree Bijbehara. During his search, 113 grams of charas sticks were recovered from his possession.
In this connection, Case FIR No. 152/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bijbehara and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the source and intended distribution network of the contraband substance.
