Vande Bharat Train to Connect Katra and Srinagar Soon

Srinagar, Feb 10, : The much-anticipated Vande Bharat Express between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar is set to launch soon, marking the first semi-high-speed train for the Kashmir Valley and the third for the Union Territory.

Operated and maintained by Northern Railway, the train has already arrived in the region and completed its trial run.

A senior railway official stated that the train is likely to be inaugurated within the next 15 days. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to flag off the service.

While ticket prices are yet to be finalized, fares are estimated at ₹1500-₹1600 for AC Chair Car and ₹2200-₹2500 for Executive Chair Car.

Designed for extreme winter conditions, the train features anti-freezing technology, heated windshields, and insulated plumbing systems to ensure smooth operation even in temperatures as low as -20°C.
