Srinagar: In the memory of renowned poet and intellectual Professor Margoob Banihali, the first edition of the series of lectures was held yesterday at Bilaliya Educational Institute, Lal Bazar. Topic was titled *“How to develop intellectual temper”.
The Memorial series was attended by host of dignitaries, intellectuals, academicians, environmentalists, students and teachers.
It was my pleasure and honour to welcome them all in the event. I must thank Prof M A Shah (HoD Physics NIT Srinagar ) for the brief introduction of the event. My sincere and heartfelt appreciations to Prof (Dr) Mushtaq Margoob Saab noted Psychiatristi(son of Professor Margoob Banihali) for his benign presence and for the presidential address.
The guest lecture by Ajaz Ul Haq ( EMRC, Kashmir University) on the topic was much appreciated by one and all among the audience.
Numerous students from schools like R P School, Crescent Public School and Bilaliya Educational Institute etc participated in the event. A quiz programme was also held among the students in which top 10 were awarded with books and certificates.
These memorial lectures are aimed to provide a forum for dynamic academic debates and the exchange of innovative research ideas. The students as well as the participants highly appreciated the event.
