Bandipora, Oct 15 The administration has proposed a probe into the death of a pregnant woman from Gurez and sent the proposal to the Director Health Services Kashmir, while compensation was paid to her family on Thursday morning, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Indu Kanwal Chhib said.

Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Chhib said the proposal for an inquiry had been sent to the Director Health Services Kashmir.

She said that compensation had been paid to the bereaved family on Thursday morning.

As reported by KNO on Wednesday, Haseen Bagem, wife of Showket Hameed Lone and a resident of Mazgund village in Tulail, was shifted to District Hospital Bandipora on Wednesday morning after developing complications during pregnancy. Her baby was stillborn.

She was initially taken to a primary health centre in Sheikhpora late Tuesday evening, but no medical staff was available there. She was subsequently taken to Sub-District Hospital Gurez, where doctors advised shifting her to Bandipora for further treatment due to low blood levels.—(KNO)
