Cyclist killed in Bandipora accident, driver held, vehicle seized

Bandipora, June 19 (KNO): A 13-year-old cyclist was killed after being hit by a speedy vehicle in Ajas-Bazipora area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday, officials said.

A police official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a cycle rider identified as Mudasir Ahmad (13) son of Mohammad Rafeeq of Suderkoot-Bala was hit by a private vehicle, leaving him severely wounded.

He said that the injured was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, however, he died on the way to the hospital.

The official said that the accused driver has been arrested, besides his vehicle has been seized.

“A case under relevant sections of laws against him has been registered and further investigation has been initiated,” the official added—(KNO)
