*June 26:* “`In continuation of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, J&K Police intensified its efforts against narcotic cultivation by conducting wild cannabis (bhang) destruction drives at multiple locations across the district Baramulla.

A major destruction drive was carried out at Graveyard Uroosa with active participation and support from members of the civil society. Simultaneously, another operation was conducted in Janbazpora, Baramulla, where wild cannabis plants growing in open areas were identified and destroyed. These drives form part of Baramulla Police’s sustained campaign to curb drug abuse at its roots by eliminating sources of narcotic substances and promoting a drug-free environment. The operations were conducted peacefully and received wholehearted cooperation from the local community.
