The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved an 18% increase in the maximum chargeable fare for various commercial passenger vehicles across the Union Territory.
As per the Transport Department notification, the revised fares will apply to big, medium and mini buses, taxis, maxi cabs, tourist cabs, auto-rickshaws, and Tata Magic vehicles.
The order, issued under the Motor Vehicles Act, partially modifies the earlier notification dated March 19, 2021.
Additionally, separate fares have been fixed for electric vehicles:

🔹 E-autos: ₹25 for the first km, ₹20 for each additional km
