Srinagar-Leh Highway closes for third Consecutive day

The Strategic 434-km Srinagar-Leh highway remained closed for the third consecutive day on Thursday, due to heavy at Zojilla pass.

Official sources said that a large number of vehicles, are stranded on both sides of the Highway, which witnessed snowfall during the past 24 hours.

The highway is closed for traffic on Tuesday following the heavy snowfall and slippery road condition at Zojila Pass, Zero Point, Meenmarg, Drass, Matayan, and no vehicle is being allowed to ply from both sides of the highway,an official said.

No movement of traffic was allowed keeping in view the safety and security of the commuters, the official said.

Meanwhile J&K traffic police in its official Twitter handle also confirmed that Traffic plying on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. Mughal road and SSG road still closed.
