Srinagar, Oct 28: “I am also the MLA of those who did not vote for me—my doors are always open for all,” said Tariq Hameed Karra, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief during a surprise visit to his Central Shalteng assembly constituency on Monday.
Engaging with voters and supporters, Karra expressed heartfelt gratitude to residents across various areas, including Kokarhama, Mirgund, Rambeelgarh and Panzinara.
Karra’s outreach included meetings with community members, local elders and youth. He reaffirmed his dedication to addressing the priorities of the Central Shalteng constituency.
“My bond with the people of Central Shalteng is my greatest strength. Each election strengthens my resolve to serve and advocate for this constituency,” Karra said. The locals appreciated his efforts to be present and accessible.
During this outreach, Karra said this visit follows a long-standing tradition he has upheld each time when he has been elected—whether for past Assembly elections, Parliament elections or other elections. He reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the priorities of Central Shalteng’s communities.
The people voiced their concerns, particularly regarding infrastructure issues such as power supply, water availability, road conditions and healthcare services. They acknowledged his dedication to these matters while many expressed hope for continued improvements in education, agriculture and social welfare across the region.
Reaffirming his commitment, the MLA said, “My bond with the people of Central Shalteng is my greatest strength. Each election strengthens my resolve to serve and advocate for this constituency. I will continue to visit and engage directly with the community as part of my dedication to their welfare.”
